Groundwater has reached a dangerous level in Bihar

It’s an alarming situation in Bihar where groundwater level has fallen to a dangerous level. Villages close to Muzaffarpur are finding bore well water only after 50-60 feet down under. Even after going that deep, the water is polluted. However, about 30 years ago, clean water could be pumped from just 40 feet from bore wells. This is the situation of most of the areas close to Burhi Gandak River. The current alarming situation can be attributed to people’s lifestyle, reports Atul Kumar Singh
