Vrishbhavathi River that was once the important water resource for Bengaluru city is shockingly a cesspool now. Urban waste has contaminated the river water which flows to a Bairmangala Tank near Bidadi village of Karnataka. The water is infested with poisonous chemicals like chromium, zinc etc. Unfortunately because of this, the traditional crop of Karnataka State like Ragi cannot be grown in the area anymore. The crops that grow are highly chemical infested.
